Uploading files, pages and pictures using the FILE MANAGER
STEP ONE: Uploading files, pages and pictures using the FILE MANAGER
ANY NEW PICTURES OR PAGES BEING ADDED TO YOUR WEB SITE MUST FIRST BE UPLOADED.
ALL FILES USED ONLINE SHOULD NOT HAVE SPACES OR FUNNY CHARACTERS IN THE FILE NAME. , #$%^& are not valid file names
my ^&^vacationpictures^&<<.jpg is not a valid file name and will not work online... If your file names have goofy symbols just rename the file on your computer prior to uploading. You could rename this file vacationpictures.jpg This is a file name that will work online.
USE THESE DIRECTIONS BELOW TO UPLOAD YOUR PICTURES, PAGES, MOVIES ECT.
AFTER UPLOADING PICTURES YOU CAN ADD THEM TO YOUR SITES PAGES USING THE HTML EDITOR. (Click here)
In your web browser visit this address http://yourdomainname.com:2082 (replace the words yourdomainname.com with your actual domain name)
You can also login to Cpanel with the direct login link sent to you by your hosting company.
You will get a pop up asking for the username and password. (This you received from us and your hosting company)
If your username or password does not work then contact your web host.
Once you enter the username and password you are logged into your Cpanel Control Panel.
Click on the icon labeled "File Manager" (shown in pic below)
STEP TWO: After you clicked that File Manager icon the file manager area appears. (Shown below)
The file manager allows you to upload your sites files, pages, pictures.
On the left menu you have the main folders that support your sites functions. One of them is named public_html and this is where all of your web site files belong.
Click on the public_html folder in the left menu. (this is where all your sites files belong.)
Then click on the UPLOAD button on the toolbar.
STEP THREE: Once you click that UPLOAD button this screen (shown below) will appear.
Use the browse buttons to browse your own computer to locate the files / pictures that you wish to upload.
Once you locate the file just click the file and it uploads it automatically.
If the file you are replacing is named the same filename as an existing file you must check the box labeled Overwrite existing files:
Once you have successfully uploaded your file you will see them listed in FILE MANAGER. (shown below)
Once you have uploaded your pictures you can now add them to your site using the HTML Editor.
